Vice President of Student Affairs

Ridley Smith

ABOUT

The Vice President of Student Events (VPSA) represents the voice of students and is the Executive tasked with hearing the concerns of the student body.

The VPSA works to ensure that King’s students are successfully being advocated for in the College and within the KUCSC by overseeing initiatives, events, and sitting on various committees with senior administration. The VPSA is focused primarily on advocacy and initiatives, and manages a large portfolio to support these two pillars.

The VPSA’s portfolio consists of the Faculty Representatives and Social Representatives, along with many Commissioners tasked with carrying out Council initiatives. Every year the VPSA writes an Advocacy Paper that summarizes Council’s position on an issue that King’s students have faced and for the College.

As part of their tasks, the VPSA must ensure (along with the Associate Governance) that the recommendations of past Advocacy Papers have been followed.
