King’s Thanatology Club

Encouraging loss, grief, and bereavement knowledge, awareness, and discussions with friendly

and approachable student events and socials.

Founded in 2015, King’s Thanatology Club seeks to promote academic and social opportunities for all students to learn about and discuss topics related to the field of thanatology, regardless of their undergraduate programs. The Thanatology Club is a supportive community of students and faculty with a shared mission of encouraging lifelong learning and open communication about topics surrounding loss, change, grief, bereavement, death and dying. We aim to raise awareness about the field of thanatology and the thanatology program, promote open discussions, hold informative events and host fun activities. Everyone who wishes to learn more about thanatology and meet new friends is welcome!

In the past we have hosted a wide variety of academic and social events, including information sessions with Thanatology faculty, PSW’s, funeral directors, and body bequeathal information sessions, as well as arts and crafts nights, bowling socials, death cafes, movie nights, cemetery scavenger hunts, group study sessions, and more! We hope to meet you during Get Involved Week and to see you at one of our events!
